Help Hotline

The Renter’s Rights Hotline is a free service that is available to Shelby County renters of any income level and any immigration status.  The hotline is for information only.  We answer questions and provide information about the rights and responsibilities of Shelby County renters.  We do not provide legal advice or representation through the hotline.

Renters can call and leave a message on the hotline at any time.  When you call, make sure you clearly state you name, contact information, and a brief description of your housing questions.  Your call will be returned in 3 to 5 business days.  We prioritize calls based on urgency, so if you are calling about a pending court date or have received an eviction notice, make sure you let us know the date you received the notice and the court or move out date.
