About Us

Memphis Public Interest Law Center (“MPILC”) is a non-profit public interest law firm formed to fill the gap in legal services in the Memphis area through provision of legal support, education, an advocacy to underserved populations and issues.

MPILC was incorporated under the laws of the state of Tennessee in 2011 and was designated a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in 2014 by the Internal Revenue Service.

The Housing Project is a renter-centered project designed to address Memphis’ housing crisis through education, research and advocacy.

Donations to MPILC are tax-deductible.

I am not anxious to be the loudest voice or the most popular. But I would like to think that at a crucial moment, I was an effective voice of the voiceless, an effective hope of the hopeless.
